V1.8 is a hand-made bass reflex type design speaker. There are two 2" drivers (same model) in the speakers. You can see one on the top. The other one is hide by the acoustic felt. There is a frequecny divider between the two drivers. To get better middle, bass reflex port hole was designed like a horn. Black part on the side are Modulation slots, which looks like plastic, but actually it was made by wood. This design can significantly reduce harmful high freq diffraction and get better high frequency Scattering.
